If you really want to have a peaceful life then mind management is the key. Most of the problems in our life are due to badly managed mind or over-thinking. Our senses are the input sources and they keep on bringing data all the time, mostly when we are awake. It is the mind’s duty to sort it, analyses it and store it necessary data to memory. Conscious mind collects data, analyses it, verifies it and sends it to the subconscious mind for storing it. There it is stored into the memory. Subconscious doesn’t do any cross checking, it just writes it to the memory and that data becomes part of you. From now on this newly written information too reflects in your beliefs, habits, attitudes and behavior etc.
So we have to be very careful about what is being written in our memory every day. Most of the data in the memory were written during our childhood period and now we don’t have any control over it. That is why we cannot change many of our habits and behaviors now. So what we can do is monitor the current data being written every day. For that first you need to be careful about the data being exposed to the senses. Always try to be in a positive atmosphere. If there is any negativity try to escape from there if possible, especially watching TV, reading social media texts etc. Always watch some relaxing programs on TV like comedy programs, funny movies etc instead of news and horror serials. Remember your mind cannot differentiate something happening on TV screen and in the real world. So it takes it as if you witnessed it in real time.
Now social media and such websites and apps are also filled with so much negativity and fake news. So reduce spending time with such things and spend time with relaxing websites and apps which give joy and happiness moments. Choice is yours and in today’s world plenty of opportunities. But our mind has a bad behavior – it always prefers to stick to negativity. So you have to forcefully change that. Also if a person is too negative, reduce spending time with him because we cannot change such people. They will always find some negative things even in a positive atmosphere.
Once you start feeding more positive information through senses then the mind also will slowly become positive. Try to objectify the mind. You are actually not mind and body. You are pure consciousness and so you can observe the mind. Most people don’t know this fact. You can be aware about what is happening in the mind. So try to observe the mind, be a witness and watch it. Without any attachment or judgement. Overthinking is the main problem for most of the unhappiness. So by watching the mind from outside thoughts can be reduced.
So the main thing is to achieve a positive mind and peaceful life is to purify your senses. Be conscious about what is going inside all the day. Remember these data are going to decide your future, your future behavior, attitude, beliefs, thought patterns, habits, addictions etc. So we cannot blame anybody else for our bad attitude or behavior. It is our own fault. We fed wrong data. Even now you can change it slowly. By carefully allowing more positive information. It is not possible to be in a positive atmosphere all the time, but you can slowly move to more and more positive situations if you are careful.
