Believe it or not silence is more powerful than words. That is the real fact. Normally we believe that we need to talk more to convince somebody or give advice. But fact is even silence can do wonders if used in a proper way.
For centuries mystics in India used silence as a powerful tool to convey their messages to disciples. Especially in South India mystic named “Ramana Maharshi” used silence to teach vedic knowledge and teach theosophy to his disciples. He used to speak only very few words most of the time and sit for hours without uttering a single word. But as per his disciples his presence itself gives them lots of peace and happiness.
Actually we have so much power inside. As per Indian vedic books the same energy powering the entire universe is sitting inside all of us too. But the problem is all our external things like thoughts, words, actions, emotions, feelings, attitude, habits etc are covering it and preventing it to glow to its original potential. So when we reduce thoughts and words slowly all these external things will subside and the real thing inside us will start to glow.
As per ancient Indian texts, we are this infinite energy and all others including body and mind are only accessories to access the physical world. We are this unlimited energy, immortal and unending power. So when we reduce all our external interference this energy will start to bloom and glow.
All senses and mind are only instruments to survive in the physical world. So use it only when necessary. We don’t need to operate it all the time and overuse of these things drain our energy. Speak only when you think it is absolutely necessary. Similarly reduce thoughts too. You are not mind or body so you can observe them. When you sit idle simply watch or observe mind and body. See thoughts are coming and going. Simply observe. Don’t try to stop it. Just observe without any attachment or judgement. Just allow it to pass. Similarly with words too. When you talk to someone observe your words. Like this you can observe your eyes and ears too. Just witness everything, whatever you are seeing and hearing. Just allow it to pass through your retina and your ear drum. Just like a camera viewfinder, allow it to pass.
Every second data will come like this through senses and data will be processed by the mind. As long as it passes just like that there are no issues. Problems come only when you start to get attached to it or try to judge it. Problem is we try to judge everything based on the data residing in our memory. These data are collected by the senses from our childhood period and most of the time these data will be inaccurate and outdated. That is why different people react differently to the same situation. So there is no perfect right or wrong. It all depends on the data each of us hold in our head. So instead of trying to judge something with these false data, just allow it to pass. For example when you talk to your friend, your subconscious has all data from your initial meeting. So whatever he/she talks you will judge based on these data only. If you had some negative experience with him/her in the past, you will quickly get disturbed or irritated for even a small mistake from him/her now because you are judging him/her now with the previous data. These kinds of things actually spoil our relationships.
So forget about the past and future, live in the present moment. Don’t try to judge people or situations with your false data. Don’t get attached too. Don’t allow your senses and mind to over power you. You are far above from mind and body. Use these instruments only when necessary. You are supposed to be the master and these are your slaves. If the master is not in control then everything will be in chaos. So take control. God Bless.
