If so you must stop this habit immediately because it is creating too much harm to your mental status and physical health more than you think.
It is ok to watch news for 10 to 30 minutes a day if you want to watch but watching for a full day is not at all recommended. Problem is most of the news channels exaggerate things and mainly focus on sensational news that are mostly negative too. Problem is our brain is constantly recording information irrespective of its content and value. It doesn’t check whether it is good or bad. So your subconscious mind will be piled up with a massive amount of negative information.
This is going to seriously affect your mood and overall mental status. You will feel sad, irritated, afraid and stressed. This affects the functioning of your immune system. When you are stressed, the body’s first priority is to come out from that at the earliest. So it stops unrelated functions like healing. If your immune system is weak then higher chances of getting an infection and it is very important in a period like this. So stop watching and hearing negative things. Instead spend time with family, do something creative, develop some hobbies, play games with kids, watch relaxing TV programs or movies, listen to relaxing music or inspirational speeches etc.
